Mindy McCready
Country music star Mindy McCready has taken her own life at age 37, amid reports she was struggling to come to terms with her music producer David Wilson, who died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in January.

In a statement, the Cleburne County Sheriff's Office said, "Ms. McCready was pronounced dead at the scene from what appears to be a single self-inflicted gunshot wound. At this time family members have been notified of the incident. Ms. McCready will be transported to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and the matter will be fully investigated."

McCready had long struggled with substance abuse, and had appeared on the reality TV show Celebrity Rehab. Her ex-boyfriend Billy McKnight was charged with her attempted murder in 2005 and she had made several attempts to take her own life.

Florida-born McCready moved to Nashville at 18 to pursue a music career, and she found fame with her multi-platinum 1996 debut album Ten Thousand Angels. She produced another four hit albums including her last, 2010's I'm Still Here. McCready is survived by her two sons.
