Dick Decent (on the left) with Def Leppard
Def Leppard are mourning the passing of their friend and sidekick Dick Decent, a gifted keyboardist who joined the group occasionally on tour.

Decent had also played in Joe Elliott’s and Phil Collen’s side-band project, Cypernauts. Guitarist Vivian Campbell issued the following statement: “It is with great sadness that I heard of the passing of Dick Decent, super-talented musician, friend, and occasional keyboard player for Def Leppard. He was a young man and he should have lived a lot more life. Our time here is short and never fully in our control. Live well and be good to each other.”

Decent also played with Thin Lizzy’s Ricky Warwick, who grieved his loss as well. “Shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of my mate Dick,” Warwick commented. “He played keyboards on my first two solo albums. A finer man and musician there is not – my thoughts go out to his family.”
