RINGO STARR'S HOME ESCAPES DEMOLITION

Ringo Starr
After a public campaign, Government officials in Liverpool have abandoned plans to destroy the childhood home of the Beatle drummer Ringo Starr.

The house at 9 Madryn Street was in regeneration zone but the pubic outcry prompted officials to preserve the landmark.

According to the Daily Express, U.K. Housing minister said the decision was “a real example of communities having the power and voice to step in and save the places they treasure most."
