Dave Grohl & Krist Novoselic
Nirvana’s Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic, along with Nevermind producer/Garbage drummer Butch Vig, have been recording together.

It appears to have been a result of Grohl’s work on a documentary about the legendary – yet recently closed – Sound City Studios in Los Angeles. But Vig has revealed that he has once again entered the studio to record Grohl and Novoselic, as well as an unidentified mystery guest.

Vig tweeted: “The last 24 hours have been surreal! Had a great gig at the El Rey last night, and spent today recording with Dave, Krist and special guest!” @butchvig April 12, 2012.

As for the “special guest,” we don’t know the identity. The trio last collaborated during the sessions for the Foo Fighters’ most recent album, Wasting Light on the song “I Should’ve Known.”  Grohl has already revealed that recordings with Corey Taylor, Josh Homme and others will appear on the Sound City documentary soundtrack.
