Aerosmith have revealed their summer plans: the 2012 Global Warming North American Tour, which will begin June 16 at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The trek is currently set to end on August 8 in Tacoma, Washington, although more dates could be added, according to Rolling Stone.

Cheap Trick will serve as the opening act for all of the 18 dates announced so far (check them out below). Aerosmith last performed in the U.S. in 2010: “The old Aerosmith is back with a new vengeance and we will kick your ass and make out with your mothers,” frontman Steven Tyler said in a statement.

Bassist Tom Hamilton chimed in with, “After touring Japan and South America last year we’re psyched about bringing it all back for the hometown fans. We’re going to break out the classics, the hits and maybe even some of the new ones we’ve been banging out in the studio. Can’t wait to get to Minneapolis.”

Aerosmith’s untitled, upcoming record is still in progress with producer Jack Douglas at the helm. No word yet on if it will be release before, during or after the band’s tour.
