GREEN DAY'S AMERICAN IDIOT HEADS TO EUROPE

Green Day
Green Day’s stage version of American Idiot is set to tour the U.K. and Ireland in 2012. Based upon the band’s award-winning 2004 album, American Idiot tells the story of “three boyhood friends, each searching for meaning in a post 9-11 world.” The musical features songs from the American Idiot album and a few other Green Day songs from their 2009 album, 21st Century Breakdown.

“We’re excited to be bringing the U.S. stage production of American Idiot to the U.K. and Ireland,” said Green Day kingpin Billie Joe Armstrong. “We played to some of the most insane crowds when we toured the album there, and we can’t wait for our friends across the pond to see the musical.” Armstrong appeared himself in some New York Broadway productions of American Idiot in early 2011, but he is not saying whether this will be the case when the show tours abroad.

American Idiot will show in the U.K. and Ireland in 2012 at:
Southampton Mayflower Theatre (October 9 – 13)
Cardiff's Millennium Centre (October 15 – 20)
Edinburgh Playhouse (October 22 – 27)
Glasgow Clyde Auditorium (October 29 – November 3)
Dublin Grand Canal Theatre (November 5 – 10)
Manchester Palace Theatre (November 12 – 24)
Birmingham Alexandra Theatre (November 26 – 30)
London HMV Hammersmith Apollo (December 4 – 9)
