Foo Fighters
The Foo Fighters' "Wasting Light" has been named Album Of The Year in Planet Rock's End Of Year Listener Poll.

Dave Grohl & Co topped the poll ahead of the latest album from Planet Rock presenter, and shock rock legend, Alice Cooper, Motorhead's latest effort and R.E.M.'s final record. Unlike most other 'Albums of the year' lists that come out around this time, Planet Rock's annual End Of Year lists are entirely generated by listeners and this fifth annual instalment attracted just under 50,000 votes across the nine categories.

Album of the Year Top 5
1: Foo Fighters Wasting Light
2: Joe Bonamassa Dust Bowl
3: Black Country Communion BCC2
4: Black Stone Cherry Between the Devil & The Deep Blue Sea
5: Alice Cooper Welcome 2 my Nightmare

Planet Rock will be announcing the winners in Nicky Horne's evening show from 6pm daily Tuesday 27th through 30th December. Full list of winners will be available on Saturday 31st December 2011, at The Foo Fighter's are also up for Best Band and Live Act.
