THE ROCK SONG OF THE DAY IS: SHERYL CROW - IF IT MAKES YOU HAPPY

If It Makes You Happy
"If It Makes You Happy" is the lead single from Sheryl Crow's 1996 eponymous second album.

The song peaked at number ten on the Billboard Hot 100 pop chart in the US. The track won Best Female Rock Vocal Performance at the 1997 Grammy Awards. The song ties with her hit, "My Favorite Mistake", as her third highest-charting single in the UK, reaching number nine on the UK Singles Chart.

Two music videos for the song were made, both were directed by Keir McFarlane. The first, shot entirely in black and white, begins with Crow in her apartment, donning a heavy black raincoat. She then goes outside and walks down the city street. As the second verse begins she is shown riding on a subway. During the second chorus she gets off the subway and walks back above ground. During the bridge Crow is showing standing on the boardwalk staring down into the water. As the song finsishes, Crow is shown buying coffee at a mall and returning home to her apartment. The second video used a lot of bright colours in it. It features Crow in a variety of sexy outfits caged in the Endangered Species-section of a museum.
