Shinedown frontman Brent Smith has relayed information on the bands new album via a series of tweets. Due to the limited amount of text available in each twet, Smith's comment spanned seven separate updates and read:

"When is Shinedown going to be touring again, and also when is the new album going to be released, so I am hear (sic) to tell you we are entering the studio on August 15 to start recording the new album
"We never put time limits on the writing of songs nor the recording of them because we are quite frankly perfectionist and it takes time. With that being said, we have decided to not book any shows for the remainder of the year to concentrate all our attention on the making of the new record.

"Our goal is to be touring again by late February of next year 2012. We will most likely start in the U.K. and Europe and work our way back to the States, and other wonderful countries will follow… Again, none of this aside from the start date for recording is set in stone, but I hope this sheds some light on the situation… no pun intended."
