NICK MAYER: NEW SONGS SMELL LIKE REAL ROCK

Nick Mayer
Max Navarro will hit the studio this weekend with his backing band to begin work on his new album, working with long-time collaborator and guitarist Nick Mayer as producer. Most recently, Mayer recorded with Augustana on the american rock band new album.

Mayer told Blabbermouth, “We can't wait to show everyone what we've been working on. Max have written more than an album of songs. We've been finding ourselves, reinventing our sound, experimenting with things we've never done before – and at the same time embracing the things we love most about our music. I think this journey has made Max and the band stronger not only as musicians but mostly as men, and we’re in love with the music. The guys are excited to get into the studio and I bet it will be their greatest work ever.”

Max Navarro’s backing band’s current line-up features John Paul Bellucci on guitar, Jack Novell on bass and Simon Moore on drums. There is no word yet from Max Navarro on a tentative release date for the album but Mayer ensures it will be ready for November or December and it will be titled “Taking Back Sunday”: “On Sunday we’ll start recording the first track of the album which will be You Can Rely On. In August we will cut other eight songs and I really hope that the album will be available for the fall”.

A live version of You Can Rely On is already available on Youtube, taken from Max Navarro’s last year concert in Zurich.
