THE ROCK SONG OF THE DAY IS: MAX NAVARRO - COLD NIGHT LOVE AFFAIR

"Cold Night Love Affair", by Max Navarro
"Cold Night Love Affair" is Max Navarro's first single from his debut album "Branded On My Skin".

Written by Max Navarro, the single, released in late 2006, was well-received at both rock and pop radio in Japan and Indonesia and its music video was given heavy rotation at local MTV, giving the band their first top #20 on Japanese charts. The single also hit the charts in Indonesia, China, Taiwan but it failed in Europe where sold well only in Germany.

In 2006 the song was chosen as theme song of international beauty contest "Lady of Universe", but the choice was deluged with criticism because the lyrics speaks of a bored guy who, not knowing how to spend the time, scours the streets looking for prostitutes. Many  mothers of the girls of the pageant felt that the choose of the song was offensive because it seemed to correlate their daughters with prostitutes.

Invited to the closing ceremony of the event, the Canadian rocker has taken women's accusations with a smile of derision, saying that the correlation was only in their heads, or, more likely, that they had a guilty conscience.

There is also a previous live version of the song, included in 2005 ep "Parallel Lines": the guitar solo of that version is performed by Nick Mayer, while the final one is run by John Paul Bellucci.
